Porcelain Veneers Nashua, NH

Porcelain Veneers An Overview

If you are looking to boost the look of your smile, dental veneers may be the right treatment for you. Our dentists use porcelain veneers in a number of smile design cases to:

  • Close gaps between teeth
  • Repair chipped or broken teeth
  • Cover stained or discolored teeth
  • Improve the appearance of crooked or misshaped teeth

Porcelain veneers provide a customized smile makeover that is durable, natural-looking, and stain-resistant when compared to tooth bonding and other types of dental veneers.

Although they require a larger time and financial commitment upfront, the long-term result is worth the overall investment, and your restoration is permanent, providing many years of beautiful smiles.

Same-Day Porcelain Veneers

We are pleased to be able to use CEREC technology, which allows our dentists to complete many porcelain veneer procedures in just one visit. CEREC uses CAD/CAM software to design and create custom-fit porcelain veneers.

Same-day dentistry saves you both time and money and allows you to avoid temporary dental veneers, which can be awkward and uncomfortable.

Lumineers

We are also a certified provider in Nashua, NH, for Lumineers, an alternative cosmetic dentistry treatment to porcelain veneers.

Lumineers are a revolutionary approach to achieving a beautiful smile. One of the most significant benefits of Lumineers is that they eliminate some of the concerns about removing healthy tooth structure.

Porcelain veneers require the dentist to remove tooth structure, but Lumineers are more like contact lenses bonded to the front teeth. Your dentist can also remove them in the future.

Porcelain Veneers What to Expect

The porcelain veneers process begins with a consultation to discuss your personal cosmetic goals and the results of your dental exam. Dr. Vogel or Dr. Levesque will work with you on an individual basis to achieve the smile you desire and to ensure that any underlying dental problems that could compromise your results are addressed.

The next step is to prepare the tooth surfaces where porcelain veneers are to be placed by removing a minimal amount of tooth structure. Dental impressions will be taken to be used in creating your veneers.

If we are using CEREC, your new veneers will be milled and placed while you wait. Otherwise, your porcelain veneers will be created in a dental lab and you will return in a couple of weeks for the final placement.

Porcelain Veneers FAQs

How long do porcelain veneers last?

Porcelain veneers will last for 10 years or more. You can maximize the longevity of your new restoration with good oral hygiene and routine dental care, where we can look for any damage that can be addressed.

What is the difference between a porcelain veneer and a porcelain crown?

A porcelain dental crown will be placed over the entire tooth, much like a cap. Porcelain veneers are custom-fit to cover only the front of the tooth.

What can you not do with porcelain veneers?

Patients with porcelain veneers should avoid eating foods that are particularly hard or chewy. These include ice, sticky foods, tough meats, toasted bread, etc. You should also avoid using your veneer tooth to open things, and cut things.

How long do veneers take from start to finish?

From your first consultation to final placement of porcelain veneers, it typically takes about 3 weeks. In the meantime while you are waiting for your permanent veneers, we will create temporary veneers as a placeholder.

Do porcelain veneers break easily?

Excessive force or pressure can damage dental veneers. However, porcelain veneers are extremely sturdy, so damage is unlikely. Veneers can withstand damage from things like chips and cracks and are just as strong as your natural teeth.
